Choosing your daily products can be somewhat confusing at times. There is a vast range of toothpaste, toothbrush and to some extent mouthwash. So in this article I would try to solve this silly confusion to my utmost best.

Starting off with toothpaste, while looking for toothpaste the three things you must consider are that it should contain fluoride, it should be approved by American Dental Association (ADA), and finally, it should taste well. I mentioned fluoride because it helps in prevention of tooth decay and strengthens your enamel. Secondly, ADA‘s Seal of Acceptance necessary because it guarantees that the product is safe and effective. And talking about taste it should be the one which you like.

Heading to the toothbrush, it is necessary to choose a toothbrush that suits your need otherwise it could be damaging for your soft tissues. A good toothbrush should have soft nylon bristles, because harder bristles can cause hurt your gums. One more thing to mention is that your toothbrush should be small enough to fit in your mouth so that it could reach all the teeth, including the ones in the back whom we called the molars.

Toothbrushes must be replaced after every 2-3 months, but if you feel the toothbrush is worn out and/or frayed it means you are using too much pressure so it’s a good idea to replace it as soon as it gets worn out.

Electric toothbrush is fun and they help in removing much more stain and plaque that the manual ones. Even so, this does not mean you should necessarily have it; a manual toothbrush is relatively effective too. Nevertheless, electric toothbrush makes brushing easier and can be quite helpful for special needs like if you have some medical conditions.

And it’s quite a good practice to use mouthwash after brushing and if it a fluoride containing mouthwash than its better because it provides extra fluoride to your teeth.
